Another year, another Web Summit, and it was as amazing as ever. The 2019 edition of the world’s biggest technology event saw a record attendance, with over 70,000 people from 163 countries visiting the event in Lisbon earlier this week. In fact, the numbers were huge across the board: 2,150 startups, 1,206 speakers, 8,500 developers and 2,526 media.
But we were particularly delighted to hear that over 46% of attendees were female, a new benchmark for the Web Summit thanks to initiatives such as Women in Tech tickets, which we at Exago were lucky enough to get our hands on!
Robot dogs, sustainability accelerators and the promise of flying cars – ‘inspiring’ is an understatement when it comes to this event.
From finance and banking, through to healthcare and pharma, retail, energy, sports, music and sustainable living, the Web Summit is the world’s biggest innovation showcase, gathering established multinationals and the brightest startups of today, and an unparalleled networking opportunity.
“It’s really interesting to see how corporations are trying to understand this startup market and how they can bring that innovation into their own companies. That’s where Exago can help, not only through the technology that enables this connection between the corporate market and startups, but also by bringing all the necessary knowledge to streamline these processes. We believe this is so important for companies right now to ensure their business growth,” says Exago CEO, Diana Neves de Carvalho.
The Web Summit 2020 will take place at the Altice Arena in Lisbon, Portugal, on the 2nd-5th of November.
