Time to celebrate innovation achievements at Enel

With the first round of its new innovation initiative closed, Enel has recognised 10 employees for their top contributions to ‘My Best Failure’ programme, in a ceremony held in Rome. The multinational power company adopted Exago’s Idea Market in 2014, having now started using the Forum application as well.

The top contributors, coming from Italy, Greece, Russia and Argentina, will receive a unique professional experience for the lessons learnt and shared: three of them will work in one of Enel’s startup’s partners, the others will experience a function of their choice within the group.

The programme ‘My Best Failure’, based on Exago’s software, invites all workers to share lessons and to understand innovation as a process of trial and error. Ryan O’Keeffe, Enel’s Head of Communication, says this programme is ‘a wonderful opportunity. This is a totally new thing inside this company’. It is particularly relevant for people to ‘see, recognise and understand that failure is an integral part of success’, he adds.

According to David Orban, advisory and faculty member of Singularity University, USA, also invited to the session, we are ‘approaching a phase transition, where rather than centralised and hierarchical organisations, we will have extremely powerful decentralised networks’. ‘My Best Failure’ programme answers to this need to promote a more collaborative and widespread culture of innovation.
